Everything began in 2003 with the idea of the ACCELL GROUP N.V. to market its own brand XLC for bike components: XLC, eXcellent bike components.
Initially XLC was used as basic equipment for bikes under the well-known ACCELL brands. Handlebars, stem and seatposts were the parts most commonly mounted. From 2005 onwards the XLC brand was first distributed via the Winora Group - a subsidiary of the ACCELL Group - through bicycle dealers in Germany and Austria. But other countries in Europe, such as France, Spain, Netherlands and Italy, were quickly included in the distribution area. Today XLC is an internationally active brand and is available in more than 40 countries via selected bicycle dealers. The XLC brand portfolio comprises parts, clothing and accessories.
