New stock in...
Now that we've moved in and settled down into our
new shop we've started getting in a little bit of
exotica! We are currently stocking Cervelo framesets
- we have an RS, R3, S2 and P3C in stock, we are
also stocking the American
Classic wheels (back to the UK for the first
time in over 5 years!)
And we also have a couple of special parts in -
the Rotor Agilis cranks and Q-Rings as used by the
Cervelo Test Team!

Elmy Cycles has moved!
We have now moved just 5 doors down the road to
86-88 St Helens St.
The new shop is a bit special, 2 floors as well
as being twice the size of our existing 2 shops.

Cycling Legend Hugh Porter MBE to officially open
the new shop
Cycling
legend Hugh Porter MBE has confirmed today that
he will be officially opening our new shop. The
'Voice of Cycling' is known to many today for his
fantastic commentary of all of the top cycling events
on television today, from the World Championships
to his fantastic soundtrack for the GB successes
at Bejing. As soon as you hear his voice you willl
suddenly realise just how many times you have enjoyed
listening to his words. Not just a voice, Hugh is
a cycling legend in his own right, winning both
Olympic and World Championship accolades. Hugh Porter
has raced all over the world and has some wonderful
stories to tell. Hugh will be joining us with his
wife, former Olympic Swimming champion Anita Lonsborough,
at 11am on Easter Saturday for the official Opening
Ceremony. Please feel free to come and join us and
say hello.
Elmy Cycles is Moving...
New shop opens 11am Easter Saturday - 11th April

You may have heard the rumours, and yes, they are
true!
After 87 years of trading at 62-64 St Helens St
and 5 years after establishing the Performance Centre
at 55 St Helens St, Elmy Cycles is moving house!
Don't worry though, we're not going far. We're only
moving just 5 doors down the road to 86 St Helens
St.
It's a hectic time for us right now with all of
the normal moving house things going on such as
sorting out all of the utilities, getting phone
lines swapped over and working out where things
need to go and when.
Oh and not to mention a complete refurb and shop
fit of our new premises! Please bear with us over
the next couple of weeks whilst we get things sorted,
but rest assured we are doing everything we can
to offer you as close to normal service as possible
during the move.
So ... what's coming? Well we think you're going
to be impressed! The new shop is a bit special,
2 floors as well as being twice the size
of our existing 2 shops. On the ground floor you
can look forward to seeing an even bigger range
of bikes all beautifully displayed in our refurbished
Cycle Showrooms with loads of Spares &
Accessories on display. We also have a massive
workshop area where we can handle all of your
repairs and servicing requirements. The first floor
is where it gets a bit exciting, here you can look
forward to seeing our new Performance Showroom
with it's fantastic range of top end bikes and a
full range of cycling clothing on display and even
a proper changing room!
Also, come and join us for a coffee and relax in
our Coffee Shop with a great selection of
hot drinks and comfy chairs to chill out in, or
watch the latest cycling DVDs on the big screen
TV.... Oh, we don't stop there! Also on the first
floor we have the all new Fitting Room, for
a professional
range of bike fitting and fitness services. Come
and see us for a Full Fitness Assessment on
our set of Real Axiom Fitness machines, a full body
fat analysis, training session or Conconi test.
We will be offering a full compliment of Bike
Fitting Services from Video Position Analysis,
cleat positioning, Tri Bar Optimisation, Comfort
and Performance set ups.
We can also offer a full custom Heat Mouldable
Footwear service. In the Fit room we have teamed
up with professional Sports Massage Therapists so
you can come down for a full Massage and
Injury Treatment in a pleasant and airy environment.
We have full changing and showering facilities available
too.
More? OK, how about full facilities to host Club
Meetings, AGMs, Specialist Training evenings, and
at last a great Teaching Room for our great
free Cycle Mechanics Courses which will be
starting again once we are in the new shop.
I haven't mentioned outside yet have I? How about
Secure Cycle Parking where you can leave
your bike whilst you head into town or pop by after
a ride. Still not finished yet, how about this......
at long last a Car Park! It's not huge but
we now have parking available for six cars in our
own private car park just off Dove Street.
So there we go! How does that all sound? I hope
you will look forward to it as much as we are and
that you will come and join us in the new shop soon.

Cycles Club Ride
2pm 11/04/09
Following the grand opening of our new store on
Easter Saturday we are organising a club ride with
the Team Riders from XRT/Elmy Cycles. Led by European
and World Masters Champion Janet Birkmyre we will
set off on a ride from the shop at 2pm. The ride
will be suitable for all riders of reasonable fitness
and route sheets will be provided. Watch the web

Back!
Mike
has now arrived back at work, half a stone lighter
and with some extremely daft cycling tan lines.
